Harman Kardon Receiver: Changing Front Light Display – I will not post this thing across the country: HELP

I have a Harman Kardon (non automotive) receiver. Template: April 7000. He has some years on him, but much remains functional. Some time ago the "main bulb" for display Front left. I looked at their service centers. The closest is the one who does not have a catastrophic customer classification may be 800 miles. This receiver is a heavy son of a gun. I am not sending it 800 miles (and back) and paying the minimum service charge (maybe $ 100 – $ 200) to get a bulb changed. It is no longer under warranty, but the bulb was not covered anyway. Not funny to ship equipment, and yeah he would cost a fair share of money for repair. Here are some options I think you should ride with. 1) Pay for the shipment and were fixed by a repair authroized. Also, feel free to send to a service center with the other bad reviews. Most people rate the service badly because they are frustrated other things like being without equipment while it is fixed, or the time it takes to repair. In this case we are talking about a bulb that should take some time to repair. 2) Invest in a new receiver. Your HK could have a display screen so that you get one moment, but the receivers are constantly changing, especially now with HDMI video switching and other features such as dual zone capability and XM Radio. Perhaps time to look at a new, considering the cost of having the HK fixed. 3) A service center authorized may be able to help. The HK stuff is unique, but not really so different from other receivers on the market. If it's really just the bulb, they could command Special from HK for you, or is a generic bulb, they may already. This could be the best option the most cost effective man Good luck,
